Sephora’s Must Have Mascaras
While looking through Sephora’s must-have mascara’s section, it was interesting to note the differences among the mascara’s brushes. It made me start to wonder which type of mascara brush really is the best at delivering a clump free–mess free mascara application.
I realize that it is so difficult to find a good mascara because we constantly have to compromise. If we want volume, then we have to deal with thick, clumpy formulas that have to be worked through the lashes. If we want length, then it’s quite possible we won’t have volume. If we want a false lash look, then we have to potentially deal with the fibres that are part of that formula. Mascara that won’t run? Forget about it–waterproof mascara dries out your lashes making them brittle.
*Sigh*
All makeup mavens know the little trick of using several different kinds of mascara’s to achieve the perfect look—but I just wish for the day when it simply comes in one tube.
Look through Sephora’s list, are there any on there that you agree are a must-have…or disagree is a must-have?

when lash fusion came out i saw lots of bad reviews, hmmm…. tey must be doing better. i use several fusion products & i HIGHLY recommend them, but i havent tried the lash because of those first bad reviews. is it still $39 or something? if so maybe i wont want to try & fall in love ;-)

I wan to try all of them. Sephora always lets customers try the mascara before buying them. This is usually what i do to see if i want to spend so much on mascara. Maybe you should try it to see if it’s worht the money.

I think drugstore brands l’oreal and covergirl are really the way to go in terms of mascara. It’s half the price for less agonizing. I hate having to spend tons of $ looking for the right mascara, even at Sephora where you can try it on there. Somehow its never the same when I get home, with mascara. i just don’t feel so guilty spending $7 a pop at a drugstore as opposed to $20 or more at a makeup counter.

I thought it was cool Sephara included eye lash curlers - and Shu Uemura’s now has a little sister that’s for teensy eyelashes.
Kami - Definicils is worth its weight in gold. I used a sample of it for a month before I lost it. Fickle me, though moved on to MAC’s Mascara X…then CoverGirl’s LashBlast and that was in the middle of January. Since about the middle of this month though I’ve been using DiorShow - I’m convinced it contains some sort of love potion because everyone who uses it becomes an instaFan.
I’ve been wanting to try Urban Decay’s Big Fatty for awhile though so maybe *that’s* next on my list ….i’m pretty promiscuous with the mascaras.

I’m not so much concerned with the “perfect look” as I am with finding a mascara that won’t come off on my skin. I’ve tried even super waterproof formulas but everything gets on my upper lids and by the end of the day it’s under my eyes as well. Any suggestions?

i think covergirls lashblast is pretty good. it gives me volume, no clump, and a nice darkk color. you’re right, we always have to compromise. we want it all! and we want it right nowwww. i guess it keeps businesses going though eh?
