Prescriptives The Illuminator

by Shannon on November 29th, 2007

prescriptives illuminatorI honestly have used this product every single day since I received it. Prescriptives The Illuminator is an absolute must-have for your makeup bag.

This all over face brick of color blushes your cheeks, highlights and contours. The picture does not do it justice. Seriously. Those shimmery stripes of color look rather blah in the picture, but if I could find a way to describe their true tone to you, I would say it’s a buttery golden shimmer that looks good no matter if you are 20 and wearing it or 50.

You can do one quick sweep to blend all of the colors, or what I like to do is use the pink on the apples of my cheeks, then lightly layer the golden shimmer on top of it and contour my face with the remaining colors.

Prescriptives The Illuminator is Limited-Edition, so I would pick it up before they’re gone. Trust me–you want this.

Have you used it? Tell me your take on it in the comments.

This looks lovely. The colors look like they’ll give you a nice shimmer. I use a Bare Minerals bronzer which is great. It makes my skin look radiant.

This reminds me of Bobbi Brown’s shimmerbricks, and on another pricerange - the Physician’s Formula bronzer strips. But, the Prescriptives’ packaging is the kicker. The leather magnetic compact is so neat, and the product really does do its job. Coolness.

i have the physicians formula bronzer and it has some serious shimmer. so much i only use it for the inner corners of my eyes (my skin is pretty shiny already)

i wonder how you just get the pink though? the strips look pretty narrow, i’d find it hard just to get that pink color with a blush brush. how do ya do it girl?? :)

I never have much luck with powder bronzers, they tend to make me look muddy. This looks pretty though, perhaps with a light touch it could work. I like the pink thrown in there too.

Sweep a smaller blush brush over the pink and hope for the best? lol, I never said my techniques were orthodox or foolproof.
