Prescriptives Colorscope Creamy Eye Color

by Shannon on October 12th, 2007

prescriptives creamy eye colorI got the chance to try out Prescriptives new Colorscope Creamy Eye Color in Smoking Gun–a grey metallic color.

What they say:

This longwearing cream eye shadow stays color-true all day long without creasing. The unique formula of Colorscope Creamy Eye Color allows easy blending, application and customization. Wear it alone for a soft sheen or layer under Colorscope Eye Color for multi-effects. Close lid tightly after use to keep product from drying out.

Key Benefits:

-Long-wearing -Stays color-true without creasing for up to 8 hours

-Easy to blend

-Water-resistant

-Comfortable application leaves a soft cream-to-luminous finish

What I thought:

First of all–fabulous color. The Creamy Eye Color is like a balm in a jar. Simply rub your finger over it and apply. It definitely lives up to the product claims as it never creased and was water resistant. I also love how totally mess-free this eye color is. I took it, along with other powder shadows, on a trip by plane a few weekends ago. The TSA went through my bags (unbeknownest to me until I went to put on my makeup) and left my mineral makeup jar lids loose, spilling powder everywhere. However, although they left the Prescriptives Creamy Eye Color lid loose, nothing happened to the product because it remained intact. So its definitely something worth looking into purchasing if you know you are going to be traveling by plane.

Do you own this product; what do you think?

How does this compare to MAC Paint Pots?

I liked the color of Prescriptives Colorscope, but the Paint Pots have a texture that keeps it from creasing and is good for longer wear.

I think I might get this for my younger sister. she’s just getting into makeup and has been coming with unblended, creasing shadow ever since. This seems to be a fail proof product that she could definately use!

This is alot like MAC’s paint pots actually, but the paint pots are probably easier to wear by themselves. The Prescriptives Colorscope works best, IMO, when you layer a powder eyeshadow over it — it makes for the best intensity.
