Makeup Minute

Minimal Makeup

by Shannon on November 10th, 2006

There’s a way to do the whole “no makeup” look, but then there is also just doing a minimal makeup look. The No makeup look makes you look flawless, while the minimal makeup look is looking natural and not overdoing it.

Today was a super busy day getting ready for my Shop for a Cure that takes place on Saturday. I simply didn’t have the time to go through my normal makeup routine. So instead I just used 4 products, making my makeup very minimal, but still looking great, and also saving me a bunch of time.

I used my Urban Apothecary Supernatural Mineral Powder because it is a foundation and powder in one. Then I brushed on my Besame Sun Kissed Rouge blush, followed by my CoverGirl Lash Exact and ended with my Country Bunny Bath & Body Mini Mint Lip Tube. This beeswax lip protector also has a shine to it, so my lips had the natural look all the while being moisturized.

This routine took all of 5 minutes. Since I still highlighted my face with some great products, I didn’t look like frumpy, over exhausted Shannon. I looked fresh and understated.

for my minimal make up look, i use my estee lauder concealer, everyday minerals blush, clinique eyeliner and full potential lipgloss. i tend to switch in and out products depending on my latest haul. and there are a lot of those! >.<

I usually wear minimal makeup too. Sometimes I don’t even wear foundation, but only primer. I also usually don’t wear lipstick, instead I wear lip gloss. I also rarely wear eyeshadow, unless if it doesn’t look too bright against my skin tone. I fear that one day I may leave my house looking like a clown.
