Makeup Remover Search
I’ve procrastinated and procrastinated and now I am out of makeup remover. I typically have used Mary Kay’s Makeup Remover, but I feel it is time to move on.
For a few months I had been thinking about “Not on my Pillow” by Benefit, but looking through their site tonight, I was so disappointed to see that they no longer sell it. So now I am on the hunt for a good makeup remover.
These are just a few I am thinking about:
Shiseido’s Elixir Perfect Makeup Cleansing Oil.
Although it is an oil, the description says that it doesn’t leave a sticky or oily residue.
Lancome BI-FACIL Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover
This product is supposed to be gentle, yet strong enough to remove waterproof makeup without much work.
AHAVA Advanced Eye Makeup Remover
This is an all-natural eye makeup and it is the cheaper of the bunch.
Have you used any of these makeup removers? Is one better than the other?
What makeup remover do you use or what would you recommend?

I use Kiehl’s. It fairly reasonably priced, does a great job, and has a social conscious.

I’ve been loyal to the Lancome Bi-Facil for years. It makes even the most stubborn waterproof mascaras and dark eyeshadows slide right off.

Though I haven’t tried it myself, a friend has found that L’Oreal’s oil-based eye makeup remover is darn near the same as Lancome’s - I mean, they are they are owned by the same company and all - and it’s much less expensive!

Ooh - Shannon. You must try Purity from Philosophy. I guarantee that you will adore it. Just a pea sized amount and about 30 seconds of rubbing it over you face will remove even the most stubborn traces of makeup.

You’ll be disgusted with me, but I swear by baby wipes…the generic type. In the summer, I add a splash of seabreeze, and in the winter I dip them into noxema.
I know…I’ll just go to my room now…LOL!!

Shannon,
Have you tried Sephora’s makeup remover? I use the Sephora Soothing Eye Makeup Remover. It is pretty gentle and it is relatively inexpensive. They have travel size too which I love. I’ve tried quite a few makeup removers and I have to say this is the best I’ve found so far.

Kim and Cyndi, I’m not sure which one to say gross to first. lol.
Miss Kristen of the Beauty Addict has offered to send me a bottle of Lancome’s Bi-Facil to run for a test drive–I’ll be posting what I think once I use it!

I’ve also been using Mary Kay eyemakeup remover. Always great to hear others opinions of the products they have used & liked… Look forward to hearing your review on Lancome’s Bi-Facil

“Not on my Pillow” by Benefit is still being sold in Sephora stores. I bought a bottle from there about a month ago, you should try looking there. Hope I helped!

Korres Jasmin Makeup Remover. I wrote a review on it somewhere around here…probably listed under the makeup remover category in the sidebar.

I’ve used baby wipes and they work pretty good. You have to be careful because if you get the soapy stuff from the baby wipe in your eye it does burn! I really like Clinque’s Take the Day Off makeup remover! I usually buy this when they have their promotions. The Pond’s cold cream sounds like a good idea too. Oh, and I’ve used baby oil which works pretty good.

i have heard people swearing my the shu umera cleansing oils. the eye area is so sensitive, so oils would definately prevent any type of stretching!

I swear by Lancome’s Bi-Facils, but only in the free gift with purchase goodie bags :) I’m too cheap to actually pay that much $$ for it, but lord knows that it works wonders and is so smooth on my skin.
In response to corinneyb, when I’m out of Bi-Facils, I totally use L’oreal’s remover. It works wonders and cost a mere $5.50 (on sale at Walgreens). For whatever reason, my eyes feel like they’ve been moisturized after I use it!

I have yet to try the oils because my skin is oily and that just freaks me out, but I’ve heard only good things about them. I personally used to use Neutregena eye makeup remover and just a washcloth/face soap for face.

I agree with the first poster, Kiehl’s definetly has the best makeup remover.

Maybe it’s grossly unsophisticated, but I love my Boots No 7 4 in 1 Quick Thinking Wipes. They really do get the job done really well! Face and eyes!

I received Lancome’s Bifacil and it’s great. If you’re looking for a good makeup remover this is it. When you look at the bottle it looks like there are two different liquids. One is oily while the other isn’t, so it sits on top of the other. you just have to shake it to mix the liquids. It takes off my makeup easily and i don’t have to rub to hard. I think that’s due to the oily liquid. I definitely recommend it.
