MAC Cosmetics Matte2 & Mattene & Plush Lash
I received MAC Cosmetics Matte2, Mattene and Plush Lash a while ago and have been meaning to write a review on it for some time. My reaction to the collections are mixed.
I abolutely love matte eyeshadows and definitely prefer them over anything shimmery. However, I have to say that I really wasn’t impressed by this collection at all. The powder itself was really silky smooth, but it went on very light in color and that color didn’t seem to have staying power. I also found that it creased after a few hours. I found myself reverting back to using their Painterly Collection of paint pots, which I absolutely adore.
LOVED this lipstick! Loved it! This lipstick is so long lasting, has a creamy yet velvet look to it and just looks so perfect when applied. The only downside is that the color ranges don’t give many “realistic” colors to choose from. Ie. oranges and bright pinks. I’ve fallen for Flattering and Cafe Matte–both are very neutral with a beige base.
I feel totally mixed about this mascara. The wand is a special “v-shaped” wand with short bristles on one end and longer ones on the other. I found it a little awkward feeling when applying this mascara and even got myself in the eye a few times. However, what I liked about it was how much it volumized my lashes and made them curl. My lashes definitely looked thicker and “va-voom.”
Have you tried anything from these collections? What did you think?

In the November Allure (JLo on the cover) there is a whole section on Lashes….and they also talk about Mac Plush Lash and the difficulties with it.
Clinque also has one of the 2 sided brushes, I just can’t get with it, I feel like I am doing double duty if I have to flip the brush over to get the desired look.

this MAC set will look nice on my wife during her wedding. I might drop by the nearest booth on my way home later

I’m such a glimmer/shiny addict that I skipped this collection entirely. Matte colors just don’t do it for this makeup addict!

I love a matte eyeshadow too, but my biggest pet peeve is when shadow only lasts a few hours. The last thing I want to do is reapply all day.

I didn’t try Plush Lash, but I did try the lipsticks and eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are truly matte, but unlike other mattes they aren’t chalky and are really easily blended. And the lipsticks, I could go on forever about the lipsticks. They are creamy and go on like a dream, they don’t dry out your lips and the color deposit is amazing. Love them, I’m hoping they’ll relaunch and/or integrate into the permanent selection.

I also tried the eyeshadow and wasn’t impressed. I expected MAC to have better color payoff! However, the lipstick did redeem the collection! It was awesomeeeeeeeeeeee. I agree, there wasn’t too many flattering colors, but the ones that I found were enough! I didn’t need another excuse to scoop the whole line up!
