CEW Beauty Awards: Makeup

by Shannon on May 7th, 2007

CEW had their Beauty Awards this week. Here are the winners for Makeup. (Note to self: Buy these products.)

Eye Product $15+: Chanel Inimitable Mascara
Product Description: INIMITABLE MULTI-DIMENSIONNEL MASCARA plumps, lengthens, curls and defines even the finest lash. After years of researching various fibers, the brush is a technological revolution. Made with white elastomer bristles, instead of conventional fibers, INIMITABLE allows exceptionally smooth and precise application. The highly sophisticated new formula is charged with iridescence for shine, pigments for extreme color, carnauba wax for maximum length and thickening fibers for high volume. Perfect coating of the brush ensures ideal application.

Eye Product Under $15: CoverGirl LashExact Mascara

Face Product $18+: SK-II AirTouch Foundation
Product Description: AirTouch Foundation utilizes ionization technology to deliver precise foundation application. Once the compact is switched on, the particles within are given a positive charge, dispersing a veil of pure pigment particles and moisturizing Pitera. The incredibly light foundation is drawn to negatively charged moisture in the skin, delivering an even finish only where needed – avoiding hair, eyebrows and clothing. Since like-charged particles repel each other, there is no buildup or overlapping.

Face Product Under $18: MAC Cosmetics Studio Touch-Up Stick
Product Description: A pencil-style concealer designed for instant, precise application. Provides medium buildable coverage with a natural-matte finish. Stays color-true. Available in 15 shades.

Lip Product $15+: Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour
Product Description: Rouge Allure is encased in luxurious new packaging that opens with a touch of the gold top. A long-lasting, velvety smooth formula envelops the lips with comfort and shine. The lipstick is delicately etched with letters that spell out “CHANEL”. Silicones provide for a velvety smooth application and a long-lasting adherence; Vitamin E derivative aids in free- radical protection; Shea Butter calms and smooths; concentrated extract of canola oil hydrates, softens, and protects lips.

Lip Product Under $15: Bourjois Effet 3D Mobile Cell Phone Charm
Product Description: With Effet 3D Mobile Cell Phone Charms, Bourjois took an everyday cosmetic necessity to the next level. These mini glosses that attach to cell phones ensure that women everywhere will never be without a makeup must-have and that they can carry it conveniently and fashionably as an accessory on their cell phones. Effet 3D Mobile Charms are available in mini versions of the eight bestselling shades of Effet 3D Lip Gloss.

What? I’ve tried a lot of these products and they were terrible. I think this is some kind of scam, like ‘you vote for my crappy product and i’ll vote for yours’. At least they didn’t vote great lash the best mascara!

Ok the SK Air Touch foundation is not around 18 bucks…isn’t it around 80? Is this the same product that uses all that negative/postive ions technology in the makeup?? I guess that 18+ needs to add a whole lot more plusses!

I agree with the best eye product under $15 winner. Covergirl does make one of the best mascaras at a very affordable price.
