Boots No7 Colour Calming Makeup Base
Boots is the best selling makeup brand in the UK. It recently made its way into various CVS and Target stores throughout the US (sadly not the ones local to me). My friend Christina has raved about Boots products, so I was pretty excited to receive a bunch of Boots makeup and skin care to review on both my blogs.
Boots No7 Colour Calming is a makeup base and red skin tone neutralizer. It is a sea green color, however I found that this product really varies from Physician’s Formula Conceal Rx. Whereas Conceal Rx made me look green and zombie-like if I didn’t apply the right amount, the Colour Calming didn’t give me that pale look at all. This green concealer seemed to spread translucent, yet still completely neutralized the redness that plagues me near my nose, mouth and cheeks. My skin looked so fabulous that I really haven’t stopped talking about this product to my family. I am absolutely impressed with how well it worked without making me “work” to balance exactly how much I need to conceal the redness yet not look too green.
Have you used this product? Tell me what you thought of it.

I’m VERY pink & fair…and all the concealers, foundations (powder, liquid) have NEVER worked fo me or matched my skin tone! I’m ordering this product. I hope it works! :)

Hi Katie,
I’m more of a medium skin tone (except in the winter when I look like porcelin) so hopefully this product will work for you.
What other concealers have you tried?

What do you think about using this product for spot concealing? I’m thinking of just using around my nose and mouth area and then putting on my mineral foundation after?

I am very fair and am blessed with quite nice skin so dont usually wear foundation.
However whenever I go out an have one drink I get really rosey cheeks and get quite a rosey face.
Do you think this will help?

Alison, you may want to dry Benefit’s Bluff Dust. It neutralizes red, but because of your light complexion won’t be so obvious under your makeup. Not the the green in Boots is, but with really fair skin–it is possible it might be.
