Benefit Cosmetics Lip Plump
I always choose not to read about a product before I test it out for myself. That way I am not biased when I review it—which lead me to believe that “lip plump” was a lip plumper. Don’t be fooled by the name, this product is a lip primer, not plumper.
Benefit Cosmetics Lip Plump is beige in color and is a little thick, not bad thick, but not lip gloss thin. It completely hid my natural lip color and it is a primer that you need to allow a few minutes dry time before you apply anything over it.
When you apply the Lip Plump, nothing out of the ordinary is noticeable, you can’t really tell if it is doing anything or not. Since I am a lip gloss girl, I tried applying lip gloss over this product. Most of my glosses are light in color and the beige basically came through with all of them and just didn’t look right. I then tried my Jane Iredale LipColour, which is a reddish color and it masked the beige perfectly.
I noticed right away that the Lip Plump had filled in the lines in my lips and semi around my mouth. With the lipstick over it, it definitely gave the appearance of a fuller lip. I found that my lipstick lasted longer wearing this primer underneath it as well.
On a separate day, I did use my Lulu Beauty Lip Lustre over it, which is a deeper plum color and it concealed the beige. I admit that my lips did look fabulous, but I found that with the gloss over it, it did tend to feather (with the lipstick it did not).
I’m not sure if the Lip Plump sufficates my lips, as they did tend to feel dryer than usual on the days that I had been using it. Still, its claims to give the appearance of fuller looking lips is correct with the benefit of retaining your lipstick color longer than usual.

If you are interested in a lip plumper you should definitely try md skincare’s Serious Lip Treatment. It smoothes out your lips, whle plumping them naturally.
It also helps the lines around your mouth.

Well I am always on the hunt for a lip plumper that actually works. Have you used this lip plumper? I’ve never actually used any of md skincare’s products.

i have also tried this product. reading those benefit cataloges makes you wanna buy everything! it totally made my lips look like the color was sucked right out of em.
Since i usually don’t wear lipsticks, this was a no go for me. Mamacita is right, the Too faced works really well. Just don’t apply too much!

Just seems like an unnecessary step to me. I stopped using all primers (for face and lids too) recently and my skin has been thanking me.
