Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aid
Benefit’s Lemon-Aid came in sample size in the Realness of Concealness that I purchased last week (and so worth the money). My friend Carla at Product Girl had raved about Lemon-Aid long ago and I have been wanting it ever since.
Lemon-Aid is a yellow correcting cream that makes redness and discoloration on your eyelids disappear. You apply a small dab to your eyelid and a dab along your browbone and then blend.
My lids are always a little red, but more so now that I am getting less sleep these upcoming weeks to my son’s birth (I love how they prepare you for the sleep you will not be getting once they arrive.) Upon applying Lemon-Aid, it completely muted out the red and gave an even appearance to both eyes. It didn’t necessarily look yellow, but obviously was pale in comparison to the red. Once I applied my eyeshadow, the yellow disappeared and just gave the appearance of an even complexion. I also found that the cream made a good base to hold my eyeshadow.
The only downside to using just Lemon-Aid on your eyelids, is if you also have ruddiness on other parts of your face like I do. Even though I applied my Conceal Rx in those spots, it did look a little strange to have green and yellow on my face. I think on days that I use Lemon-Aid, I will have to purchase Benefit’s Bluff Dust, also a yellow corrector, to make for a smooth even skin tone.

This is great for evening out the eye area. It can be used alone or under shadows.

Seems like this product wouldn’t work so great for me, since I have other areas of my skin I’d also like to correct. But sounds like a great product nevertheless.

I have used the Lemon-Aid and again, the color was too pale for my eyes. I had to use it really sparingly to get the desired effect. Too much blending for me.
However, I do like patting it in the corners of my eyes and on my brow bone. It looks more natural for my skin tone than the white highlighters that are mostly out there.

This is a big change from those really thick, dark yellow correcters I used to use…before I realized they looked redic. I’ll have to try this, it looks a lot more subtle.

This concealer looks like it won’t work at all. It just looks too pale.

Ok - I have dark circles under my eyes forever! Even with sleep - they are still there. So - of course I have tried EVERY concealer under the sun. Mac, covergirl, revlon, dermablend, BE…the list goes ON and ON. With these concealers - I would need to keep applying throughout the day and/or they got cakey and it looked like I was 20 years older! I have fair skin (wear BE in fairly light) and I decided to try the lemon aid (what do I have to lose). It works - it corrects any discoloration on my lid and under my eyes. After I apply the Lemon aid - I lightly cover with my BE fairly light foundation. I don’t even really need the bisque concealer!!! I can understand why girls with darker skintones would not be interested in this product. For us fair skinned chicks - it works!!!!!
