Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing

by Shannon on April 2nd, 2007

boi-ingBenefit Cosmetics concealer boi-ing came in sample size as a part of my Realness of Concealness kit. It comes as #2, which is medium. boi-ing is supposed to be a concealer for under your eyes to cover up your dark circles, but I found that it was also good at being a concealer along the sides of my nose to cover up redness.

boi-ing is a very thin feeling concealer and even though it is not slick or greasy, it glides on very smoothly. You only need to dab a small amount and blend, which really looks flawless under your foundation or loose powder. I found the medium to be a perfect match to my skin coloring, which sometimes borders on the fair side.

I like this concealer, I just wish that it was meant as an all over concealer as well.

If you’ve tried boi-ing, what did you think?

Frankly, I’m not impressed with it. The shade range isn’t great and it creased almost immediately upon use, on me. Also, I was left with the reverse raccoon effect around my eyes. Not happy at all. I gave it away.

Hmm…Maybe mine didn’t crease because I used the Smashbox Primer underneath it.

I have used this concealer for a year now. I really liked it at first but it’s been failing me lately. It is not giving me the undereye coverage I need. It does do okay on the redness around my nose and chin. But I need something more heavy duty for the undereye area. I think it’s a good 2nd concealer but not a primary one. I too have fair-ish skin but use Medium. Light was way too pink.

This is my favorite concealer. Like you, I am fair, but have been surprised that #2 is a match for me. Most days I use just tinted moisturizer and dab Boi-ing where I need it. I find it covers the small bit of red in my cheek where I have some tiny (but drives me crazy) broken capillaries.

I love this concealer. It’s great for hiding all my flaws and stays put throughout the day!

If the skin around my nose is kind of a slightly red/brown color, would this cover or even it out?

Red/brown–I don’t think it would even it out. I *should* have a video I’ll be posting soon from 3 Custom Color where the MUA said how to cover red that looks natural so stay tuned.

I know, the range of colors is pretty limited…just three colors! I was also #2 and suprisingly it matched me pretty well! It covered my scars and redness well, but it did crease throughout the day.

However I wasn’t using any primer, so maybe that would do the trick?
